Hi Anonymous,

Rodney Lethbridge was my paternal grandfather. he was born in catskill, n.y. an only child. he attended Pratt and coopers union art institute. he lived in Queens and retired to Woodstock, n.y. in the early 60's.he was acquainted with Robert Kuhn who gave a wooden sculpture to my father for a wedding present in 1946. Rodney painted mostly flowers and scenery using acrylics. He also sculpted animals. Rodney also taught high school industrial arts in Catskill new york.

I hope that helps  sincerely, Laurie Lethbridge

I don't know if you remember, but I had a question about Rodney Lethbridge, Thanks for the info you gave me, however, do you happen to have any photos of him?  How many paintings did he do? I tried surfing the web but came up with hardly anything aside from a few of his paintings.  Many Thanks!  Jenn

Hello Laurie, if you're still active here, I would love to talk about your grandfather. I'm working on an exhibition about Margaret Lowengrund and her printmaking workshop called The Contemporaries. Apparently, Rodney Lethbridge served as a printer for The Contemporaries when it had a location at the Woodstock Artist's Association in the summer of 1952. My email is christinaweyl@gmail.com if you see this and want to reach out. Thanks!
