Join us for our Purcell Gallery opening featuring Lee Nixon on Friday, May 31st from 6:00pm 8:00pm. Light appetizers, and beer, wine and soft drinks will be available at no additional cost, courtesy of the Louisa Arts Center and our Purcell Gallery Committee. Admission is FREE.
About the Artist:
Lee Nixon is an impressionist artist living in Orange Virginia. He recently retired after 38 years of teaching and continues to create and experiment with various art media.
His stunning palette, filled with vibrant complementary colors, establishes a mood, symbolizes feelings, conveys ideas and dazzles the viewer. He works primarily in acrylics, often applying numerous colored glazes.
He has a B.S. in Arts Education from Virginia State University. He has exhibited at numerous galleries, including the Science Museum of Richmond, the Morin Gallery in Orange, the Walker Fine Arts Center at Woodberry Forest in Madison County, the Purcell Gallery at the Louisa Arts Center, the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville, the Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen and the Pepco Edison Place Gallery in Washington, D.C. Look for his solo show at the Purcell Gallery opening in May 2019.
