Join community members, every 3rd Wednesday of the month, for Poetry Night 6pm-8pm. Poetry Night is open to beginning and seasoned writers. There's never any pressure to read! Come alone or with a friend.
All types of poetry, spoken word and short fiction welcomed!
Each month has a unique feature, and ends with an open mic.
Upcoming Poetry Night Themes September 17: Join three local poetry authors, Stan Galloway, Michael Trocchia and Nicole Yurcaba. Free. Books will be available for sale/signing. Q & A to follow. Don't be shy...wanna know how they got published? What does it really mean to be an author? What did a certain poem mean?
October 15: Harvest Poems. What are you thankful for? You'll be given poetry prompts to write new poems, or find some in advance on this topic. Open mic to follow slam poetry feature.
November 19: What's better than collaboration?! We will assign small groups to begin writing a poem together. We want conversation. We want laughter. Oh, but wait, we are throwing some wrenches in the works...
December 17: I don't know about you, but the holidays cause me stress! Bring in poems that help you to blow off some steam...whatever that means to you. We'll have a couple of poetry-related prizes to those that REALLY get their point across! Our feature will include story-telling/comedy/drama on this topic...
January 21: Poetry Reading. Theme to be announced.
